G628G: 19-Gram Badge Replaces Paper Timesheets for Attendance & Patrol

G628G: The 19-Gram Badge That Replaces Paper Timesheets
4G Cat.1 · BLE Auto Check‑in · GPS · IP54

4G Cat.1. GPS/BDS + WiFi + BLE + LBS. 450mAh battery. 20+ day standby. IP54. Pin-on or velcro mount. BLE auto check-in at beacon points — no card swipe, no signature, no phone required. For schools, patrol routes, property services, and workforce attendance where workers move through checkpoints.

It looks like a school badge. That's the point.

The G628G is 50mm in diameter, 8.5mm thick, and weighs 19 grams. It comes with a standard pin backing and a white sticker label that can be printed with a student photo, name, and class — or a worker ID for hospital staff, factory personnel, or security patrols.

Unlike a watch or a wristband, it does not need to be worn on skin. It pins to a shirt, a lanyard, or a bag strap. This makes it acceptable in environments where wrist-worn devices face cultural resistance (schools, religious institutions) or where lanyard badges are already standard practice (hospitals, corporate campuses).

The white surface is designed to be customized. Schools print student photos and barcodes. Hospitals print department and staff names. Factories print employee numbers and blood type. The sticker is user-replaceable. The badge underneath is a standard white housing.

An optional velcro backing replaces the pin for uniformed personnel who cannot puncture their clothing — security guards on formal duty, event staff, ceremonial personnel.

The "invisible attendance" system

The most operationally significant feature of the G628G is not GPS. It is BLE beacon auto check-in.

How paper-based patrol and attendance fails: A security guard walks a patrol route through a building and signs a sheet at each checkpoint. The sheet tells you they signed. It does not tell you when they actually arrived, how long they stayed, or whether they walked the route in order. The data is collected at the end of the shift, keyed into a spreadsheet, and reviewed days later.

How the G628G changes this: Bluetooth beacons (OV02/OV03) are deployed at each checkpoint — a stairwell door, a corridor intersection, an equipment room. The G628G scans for beacons continuously. When it detects a new beacon with the strongest signal, it records a checkpoint event: beacon ID + timestamp + signal strength. This data is transmitted to the cloud platform via 4G Cat.1.

The platform generates a route completion map in real time. The supervisor sees the patrol as it happens, not as a stack of paper at the end of the week.

ProfileScan IntervalUse Case
Standard check-inEvery 3 minutesElder care home visits, property maintenance, service calls
Patrol modeEvery 2 seconds (continuous)Security patrol, corridor rounds, parking garage inspection

In patrol mode, the G628G scans for new beacons every 2 seconds. The guard does not stop. The badge captures each checkpoint automatically as the guard walks past. A beacon that has already been logged within the last 1-2 minutes is not recorded again — this prevents duplicate entries when the guard lingers near a checkpoint.

For outdoor patrol where BLE beacons are not deployed: The G628G falls back to GPS/BDS positioning at 10-minute intervals to maintain a trajectory, even in areas without beacon coverage. This hybrid approach — BLE for checkpoint precision, GPS for route continuity — gives you both granular attendance data and a searchable movement history.

Offline continuity: If the patrol route passes through basement parking garages or stairwell cores where cellular signal drops, the G628G stores checkpoint data to its 1MB onboard Flash. When the guard exits the dead zone, the buffer uploads. No missing checkpoints.

GPS and WiFi positioning for outdoor and transitional zones

The G628G uses the same four-source positioning architecture as the rest of the product line, but optimized for a device that spends most of its time indoors:

  • BLE beacon scan — primary indoor source, 1-3m accuracy with 6-8m beacon density

  • GPS + BDS (BeiDou) — outdoor, 5-20m open-sky accuracy

  • WiFi fingerprinting — transitional zones, 10-50m depending on AP density

  • Cellular LBS — fallback

The device's onboard accelerometer controls smart-sleep: when the badge is stationary for 20+ minutes, it stops positioning and stops reporting. When motion resumes, it wakes and acquires a position fix. This is critical for a 450mAh battery powering a device that may be worn for a full school day or a 12-hour security shift.

School campus deployment

Student safety and attendance: A student wearing a G628G arrives at school. The BLE beacon at the gate registers arrival. Beacons in each classroom confirm attendance at each period — no roll call, no RFID tap. If a student leaves the campus geofence during school hours, the platform triggers an alert. If a student does not arrive by the expected time, a notification pushes to the parent app.

The badge as ID: The printed sticker carries the student's photo, name, grade, and a barcode or QR code. The badge serves as visual identification and electronic tracking in one device.

After-school scenarios: For boarding schools, the G628G continues tracking through evening study halls, dormitory returns, and morning wake-up zones. Geofencing around dormitory perimeters provides night-time security without requiring staffing increases.

Patrol and property services

Contactless workforce management for home care and maintenance: A caregiver visits multiple elderly residences per day. A property maintenance worker services 15 apartment units. The G628G logs arrival and departure at each location via BLE beacons installed in the residence. The platform generates an attendance report showing time at each location, total service duration, and travel time between stops.

This replaces paper sign-in sheets that require client signatures. The beacon is fixed to the building infrastructure. The data is timestamped to the second. Disputes about whether a visit occurred become rare.

For cleaning and janitorial services: Beacons placed in each restroom, corridor section, and common area. The badge logs when each zone was serviced and how long was spent there. The cleaning contractor provides the building manager with a digital log, not a clipboard with initials.

What the G628G is NOT

  • No health sensors. No heart rate, no SpO2, no temperature. This is a positioning and attendance badge.

  • No display. Status is communicated via LED color and blink patterns.

  • No speaker or buzzer. Alerts are silent — LED + vibration only. For voice alerts, use the G808G.

  • IP54 is splash and dust resistant, not immersion-rated. It survives rain and hand-washing splashes. Do not submerge it.

  • GPS acquisition time may be slower. The ultra-thin form factor (8.5mm) constrains antenna size. This is a trade-off between thinness and satellite reception speed.

  • Patrol mode (2-second BLE scan) consumes more power. In patrol mode, expect 3-5 days of battery life, not 5-7.
